How do I get started?
Private Clients/Supervisees can book via our Booking page or visit our Contact page for more information.
EAP Clients are to contact their EAP provider to organise their initial appointment.
NDIS Clients are to call us on 0478 698 330 to organise their initial appointment.
Do I need a referral?
Private Clients don’t need a referral from their GP or community agency. Self-referral is acceptable.
EAP Clients need to be approved by their Employer in order to access our counselling services.
NDIS Clients need to be referred or approved by their NDIS stakeholder.
Are you open after hours or on weekends
If you need to have your session outside standard working hours, please talk with your Counsellor or Supervisor to see whether your session could be provided after hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, or on a Saturday morning.
Note that standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Australian Eastern Standard (AET) time. A 10% penalty rate may incur if your appointment is outside AET working hours.
In the event that your Counsellor/Supervisor accepts to provide you with services on a public holiday, there will be a 15% extra charge of the original fee.
What do I need to do before a session?
If you have a phone or online session, please ensure that you are in a safe and private environment 3 minutes before your session starts. Your session may not proceed if you are in a public place like shops, or are driving or are taking public transport. A cancellation fee may apply if your session does not go ahead. For more information please refer to our Cancellation Policy.
If you have an online appointment, please ensure that your electronic device is fully charged, that you have the latest update of Microsoft Teams application, and that you are ready to go 3 minutes prior your online session.
Can I obtain a support letter from my Counsellor
The only type of support letter provided is an attendance letter with your name, date of birth, number of sessions attended and/or missed, and a brief statement as to the nature of counselling provided. There is a cost of $50 plus GST for an attendance letter.
We do not specialise in providing psychological assessment reports. If you need such report, please ask your GP to refer you to a Registered Psychologist.
What training does the Team have?
Staff at SCSS are qualified professionals in their respective field. The SCSS Counsellor is registered with relevant governing bodies such as the Australian Counselling Association. The SCSS Professional Supervisor is registered with the ACA College of Supervisors.

How is my personal data treated and stored?
Your personal data will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality and in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) which regulates how Australia’s government agencies and organisations handle your Personal and Sensitive Information. How much do I need to pay for my counselling session?
A once off 15-min consultation is FREE
Individual Counselling (50 min): $130 + GST ($143.00)
Couples Counselling (50 min): $160 + GST ($176.00)
Family Counselling (50 min): $160 + GST ($176.00)
Couples Counselling (80 min): $210 + GST ($231.00)
Family Counselling (80 min): $210 + GST ($231.00)
EAP Clients’ sessions are of no cost to them as their company covers the cost.
NDIS Clients’ sessions are of no cost to them as their NDIS provider covers the cost.
How much do I need to pay for my professional supervision?
Professional Supervision (50 min): $140 + GST ($154.00)
Group Supervision (110 min) per Supervisee: $ 90 + GST ($99.00)
Group Supervision requires a minimum of 3 Supervisees and a maximum of 6 Supervisees to proceed.
How do I pay for my session?
Private Clients/Supervisees are required to pay for Sessions upfront through our online booking system
EAP Clients and NDIS Participants don’t need to pay as their cost is covered by their Employer or NDIS Provider.
Can I claim Medicare or private health rebates?
Currently our services are not covered by Medicare.
However, if you have extras cover to access therapy with any of the following Health Insurance Providers:

You may be eligible to claim a portion of your counselling session cost.
Please note that the payment for your session is required up front. You can submit your invoice to your Private Health Provider for a rebate.
